Powerful Way to Secure Facebook Account

Recently we heard about Facebook account that has been hijacked around us, How could it be? Whereas most user trusted and used this social networking feature as a daily communication tool. And next question is, at least how to protect our account from this tread.

This are the steps to anticipate this tread:
  1. Don't log in to our account from http://www.facebook.com, this page is unencrypted. Some of our information is encrypted, but this login form is under a frame, so we can't see whether any information has already encrypted or not.
  2. Do login to our account from http://login.facebook.com/login.php?login attempt=1. We can ensure that login we have done is secure and check in right-bottom of our browser is showing 'lock sign'.
  3. Don't continue login process if there is a security alert appears. We can stop this process by pressing 'Esc' button.
  4. Always log out from account if we've done with it, by close our browser without logout, it means that we've left our 'session' to accessed by another people, so it is important to always do logout.
  5. Be careful to any malicious facebook widget. Widget gives a chance to the author to slip such code to access information in our computer. Now there are 2 kind of Malicious Facebook Widget report it attacked Facebook users, they are secret crush and error check system.
  6. Be careful to chose computer we're going to use. If we get used to use public computer like in office or internet cafe, so we have to pay attention on it, because there's no guarantee that the computer is secure. Whereas computer it infected koobface worm or keylogger could steal any user data and password.
  7. Be careful to chose Wi-Fi connection. Facebook cookies will be easily sniff from air (by wi-fi signal connection). Wi-fi which has WEP encrypted can be easily broke by in just 10 minutes. So if we access facebook from unprotected network is same as we give our private data.
